Ronan Callahan is a Dublin-based image-maker working across digital and film photography. His practice explores themes of masculinity, memory and vulnerability, with a particular interest in relationships shaped by shared identity and belonging.
Drawing on his own experiences and the social environments around him, Callahan often works within institutional and collective spaces, considering how they shape relationships, behaviour, and individual and group identities. His work is particularly attentive to the informal interactions and personal connections that emerge within these structures.
With a background in portraiture and studio photography, Callahan brings a considered, observational approach to image-making, considering the emotional and psychological spaces surrounding his subjects. Moving between the immediacy of digital photography and the slower, tactile qualities of film, his practice is grounded in observation, trust and collaboration.
